Many of the "websters" have been around this site since the Rivals.Com days. Those readers will remember an
idea that we tried to implement called the:
Help A High School Baseball Web
Family With College Costs Fund
With Rivals failure and subsequent reorganization this dream never can to pass. I receive an email or two a month asking if there
is anything that can be done to help with the site. My answer is always .... "thank you" very much, but all is well.
With a new year and an increased readership, I have decided to give the scholarship fund idea another try. I receive so many nice comments about the site, etc.
and all of them are appreciated. My goal is to give something more, even better and more substantive back. This scholarship is our way to do that.

The following is how I envision this working
Your comments and suggestions are welcome:
- Nominations will be solicited from our "websters"
- Nominations will start January 1st of each year
- A panel of impartial members will make the final evaluation and decision
- Award notification to be made in late June
- All monies collected will be awarded on a "one time" basis
- Monies will be paid upon proof of a student-athlete's enrollment in a college and
verification by the head baseball coach that the winner is expected to be a member of that school's baseball team
- The winning student-athlete will be required to participate in an interview with the HSBBWeb and allow his/her
photograph and name to be used on this site
- The fund will start over each year with a new winner
There are many elements that could be factors in this award but my feelings are that first and foremost the fund award
must be based on "need." We will not ask for a families financial information -- but we will be diligent enough to verify
a student-athlete's situation.
This project is very special and important to me and I hope that others will feel the same way.
